Mark moved to El Paso in 1981. He worked as an illustrator, photographer, portrait artist, graphic artist, ceramic
instructor, and art teacher since arriving in El Paso. He has exhibited his work throughout the Southwest
and New England.He designed and illustrated the first training manual for the Patriot
Missile System. One of his photographs of the stinger missile team was on the front cover of the El Paso
phone book.He currently works at William Beaumont Army Medical Center as a Visual Information Specialist.
He
was born in Hartford, Connecticut in 1949.Mark received his first oil paint set in 1962.In
1965 he won 5th place in a state wide poster contest. In 1966 he started in the Famous Artist School.
One of his instructors was Norman Rockwell. He won the Art Award of his high graduating school class in 1968.He received a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts in 1972 from Swain School of Design.Working in Boston
for two years, his work was in the Boston Art Director Show in 1973.He next joined the Army as an illustrator,
doing recruiting material in California, then went to Germany and became Art Director of a magazine named EurArmy which he
redesigned.After leaving the Army he worked as an artist in Iowa and Connecticut and then ended up
in Texas.Mark then worked as an artist at UTEP, then the US Army as a civilian at Fort Bliss.
